Delimiting Common Space

Alvaro Arancibia:

This type study investigates the relevance and proliferation of common space in the configuration of the row housing typology throughout the urban history of Santiago de Chile. The diverse phenomena arising from this typology underwent a ‘displacement of concepts’, which has consecutively reinvented row housing from a public private to a common-private devision. This has shaped the current state of row housing in Santiago de Chile.
